This is a very important question, and if you’ve never had a swim spa before you may not know where to actually put one. What do you use as a base for a swim spa?
A typical swim spa can be at least 15-25,000 lbs when full of water and people, so it’s important to get this step right.
But it’s not as complicated as you might think.
So here’s what we recommend.
The absolute best place to put a swim spa is on a concrete pad.
Typically a concrete pad 5-6 inches deep will hold the weight of a full swim spa plus people. But you’ll want to consult with a concrete professional for a detailed quote of what you need based on the spec of the swim spa you’re thinking of.
This way you’ll protect yourself from ground shift and your swim spa becoming crooked, potentially damaging your components and structure.
NEVER ever put a swim spa directly on the ground.
A good concrete pad can set you back a few thousand dollars, but will save you time, money and headaches in the long run – trust me!
Hope that helps and have an awesome day!
